There is no better expression of love than giving. God gave because He loved. He gave everything to express His love. As believers, we are called to build on this foundation and to reflect God’s love in all that we do.
“Share your food with the hungry and bring poor, homeless people into your own homes. When you see someone who has no clothes, give him yours…” (Isaiah 58:7)
From our humanitarian aid center, we provide practical help to the community at large. Our warehouses stock dry food goods, used clothing, furniture and home goods and the distribution center is open throughout the week to anyone in need. We receive new immigrants, Holocaust survivors, single parent families and those who are experiencing hard times. Our staff are often some of the first faces new immigrants encounter when they are taking their first steps as “fresh” Israelis. It is a unique and often critical opportunity to support and encourage them in their Aliyah process.
Twice a year, before Passover and Rosh Hashanah, we pack and distribute a basket of holiday foods to 900 families from our city and neighbouring cities as well.
The unprecedented attack that took place on October 7, 2023 has inflicted a tragic wound upon Israel. As difficult as the losses and ongoing pain of this war have been, they have also re-birthed our nation to a season of sacrificial giving.
Young and old have been mobilized to literally stand at the gates of our nation and serve in harm’s way. Our country has risen to fight for its right to exist. We too feel called to do our part by helping families of mobilized reservists as well as evacuees from the north and south.
